Re-reading this, I realize that saying “I cheat” when talking about avoiding a record of conversations gives the entirely wrong impression. I was referring to the act of recording conversations while the other person usually doesn’t have control over it.

And also examining the evolution and dissolution of relationships by reading through the chat archives and looking for red flags or other obvious markers.
